DB junkie-how big is your tank? can you post a pic of your set up?

I have 2 Tenecors. They were both bought used. I have a few pics of the big one in the photo lounge, but I have none of the smaller "grow out" tank. My camera died a few weeks ago. I have not put a drop of water in either one.

The growout is a 300 gallon, 96 x 30x 24 with a black back. I had to modify the overflows as it was only set up for (2) 1 inch drains. It now has (2) 2 inch drains. I have not filled it yet, so I don't know if I will have to modify the teeth. It has 2 trapezoidal overflows that are 15 inches at the back wall.

The other tank is a 750, 120 by 48 by 30 with blue back. I have NO clue how big the overflows are, as it is in storage. It only has (2) 1.5 inch drains. I'm sure it will be fun modifying this one, as it is a lot thicker then the other. Will probobly put a pair of 3 inch drains in it provided the overflow is wide enough. This tank had to be repaired on the top as it cracked by the overflows. I suspect it was user error, possibly too heavy of lights on it when it was set up as a reef tank. The repair job appears to be profesional as it looks like basically the back half of another top plate was glued on there. It is identical to the original top, so I think either Tenecor repaired it or sent the back half of the top plate to the previous owner and he glued it on. I know he said he had the canopy made after this repair, and it has huge hooks that lights hung on, which is the reason I suspect the lights did it in.

Tenecor put 1" drains in my 360 even though I told him I wanted bigger. They sent all the parts and jigs to have it fixed then the guy called to drill it and he said he didnt want to do the job. Tenecor has yet to fix it over a year after the screw up. They also sent the wrong size pumps that overheat and said oops with no replacement!

Dont use Brian as your sales guy if you go with Tenecor

Just seen they are now a vendor. Thread started there

I also have a tank on order from Tenecor, with Brian Harnish as my sales guy. I have to say there have been a LOT of delays with getting my stuff shipped to me. I just hope that when stuff gets here it will all be according to specifications.

I ordered two Tenecor tanks......120x48x30 and 120x42x30.....
It took six months to get here(many excuses) and when they finally arrived
the bottoms were scratched up due to poor crating and poor trucking company.
First I was going to send them back but then decided the gravel would cover the
bottom of the tank so I will keep them.(i did not want to wait another year.)
Also I am still waiting for the durso pipe and other items.
The lids were going to be the same thickness as the tank but instead
were 1/4 inch thick only......what do they think I am putting in tanks this
big? GUPPYS????
There are other issues but bottom line is for what I payed ...this company is
very unproffesional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad it isn't a true lifetime.... Just to the original purchaser. :(
With the idiots I have seen move tanks I would not warrantee a tank that people have moved from home to home buyer to seller :nilly:

Tenecor doesn't set the tank up for you. You think a tank doesn't get moved once it's bought? How many pics have you seen on this site of big Tenecor tanks sitting on garage floors? Makes you wonder how they get to where they will reside doesn't it? You could have the same friggin idiot do just as much damage in his own home. You think the people that buy these brand new are that much smarter than those of use who choose to buy used?

Chances are if you just signed away several months of income on a used tank you are going to be MORE carefull with it than the "idiots" that are stupid enough to use movers that couldn't give a rats arse about how carefull they are moving them.

Bottom line...... Warranty on cars is transferable. On a tank that costs as much as a friggin car it should be no different.

No one need take offense to "idiots" just thought I'd use the term loosly like above.
