I am working on building an amazon native collection of fish to go along with my pair of retics. I will also be purchasing a pair of Motoros as a Christmas present to myself! I currently have a flag tail, six pbass, a ripsaw catfish, a Lima shovel nose, and four red hooks. It is very important to me that whatever fish are recommended are ray safe! I obviously have a plan for large tanks, and ponds considering everything I currently have so size isn't too overly important. I eventually plan on putting everything together into one large tank as an amazon community! I hope I get lots of good recommendations and input! Thanks everyone!

Problem is you are limited because the bas will eat any smaller fish. What about a black or silver arowana?

Black or Silver Aros....deppending the size of your P. Bass and what type of...You can get Oscars, Pikes Cichlids that will keep growing as fast as P. Bass (Borboleta, Amarelo, Azul, Popoca)

I plan on getting two silver arows in the spring when they are in season and when they are cheaper hahaha. I am gonna add another three red hooks to build that school up and another large Lima that we have at the store I work at (it's over a foot and I would pay like forty bucks for it). Thanks for the suggestions so far! Keep them coming please!

yea pacu tinfoil barbs "real tinfoils" i would stay away from pike cichlids though im not sure they would be ray friendley. giant grammie both albino and reg. even some smaller fish would look neat seasonal like say some sort of tetra if u have top plants for them to hide in.

Flag tails are notoriously not ray safe I would remove it or at the very least keep a very close eye on it.

As for stock suggestions a tigrinus would work great and maybe some large geos

Also we need pictures :)

I am keeping a close eye on it and they have been together going on a month (knock on wood). I really like the geos and plan on trying to pick some up! A tig and a Leo would be awesome except I don't have a small fortune to drop on them hahaha. Love all the suggestions everyone keep them coming!
