Maybe it was simply because they were pups, or maybe I asked the wrong questions?

I realize the pics were incorrectly matched but...

Another thing to consider is that pups need time to mature. Pics of parents always help.

That was definitely my mistake. I just send a private message, so hopefully that can be remedied!

DB - I don't want to hijack this thread, but you sure seem to complain a lot about the lack of marbles. Someone on this forum had 5 they couldn't give away a couple months ago. They're out there.

Lack of Marbles? Nope. Lack of quality Marbles? Yup.

I'm not complaining, simply stating they are a pain in the arse. This is a fact. As anyone in the same boat looking for them WILL agree.

5 they couldn't give away? I find that very hard to believe. Prove me wrong..........

Quality ones are out there...... TILL they end up in my pond. :headbang2

No worries..... I GARENTEE it will be much easier for future Marble fans to find outstanding ones. I think between Mike, Jim, and myself there will be an abundance of knockout stunners........ Just a matter of time. :naughty:

The ray in the first pic is owned by Michael H and from what I am told not so sure it is regular marble motoro. I believe he has looked for one like this for some time and never found another exactly like it.

Nice marbles are great rays for the money. They are in stock and can be brought in at any time so there should be no problem getting any. Only thing is if you want quality, the prices have gone up.

^^ PICS........

Quality has always been expensive. Some of us have been patiently waiting for "quality" to come around.

Yeah, patience is very rewarding sometimes ...I feel like a kid and I go like this :nilly: every time I get something that I've been longing for.

IMO, only the first fish you posted is anything special. The rest look like plain jane marble motoros to me and I wouldnt pay morethen $3-400 for them.

Jimr has some REALLY nice CB marbles, probably the best in the country.

Pedro at Aquascape has some marbles for ONLY $250 that have tons of potential.

nice marbles are out there, just keep your eyes open.

I've talked to Jimr, but he didn't have any pups in at the moment. :( I am looking at Aquascape, and got a somewhat mixed reaction from the lady. They were beautiful rays, and if I didn't have to get her approval I probably would have bought them all right then! There is one she is interested in, and I suppose we will have to take some time to decide.

We are still on the market for about 8 rays (total), to be aquired over the next few years. If you see any, please let me know! :naughty:

We've been talking to breeders and getting pictures of the rays they have for sale. I tell them that Ashley would like marble motoros, and the pictures do not match the rays she wants! So, I had her look through google images for the types of patterns she would like to see eventually on her rays. What she does not know is that I will be getting them sooner than she thinks as a surprise! So, here are the pictures of what she likes. What do I ask for when talking to a vendor?

Thanks,
Matt

first is MichaelH special ray....
second so called rose motoro from river wonders...
3rd and 4th are just nice marbleds that in asia are worth a rediculous amount of money..... just buy some marbleds and see how they turn out as adults...

and as i told you before spotting and patterns change as they grow... the ray could have ugly duckling syndrome...
