Its pretty much a classic example of Albofasciatus, ive keps numerous specimens over a 35 year period, all grew between 10 and 11 inches. The specimen in the picture is easily 10 going on the assumption the tank is between,12 and 15 inches front to back.

works for me. Since ive never kept that specimen, i trust ya. I agree with aquaman

Im sure your opinion is valued just as much as mine or anyone elses on this forum, probably more because youve been here much longer, anyway i wont put the cat amongst the pigeons anymore,i feel that the differences of opinion on these IDs is going to get personal at some stage so i will leave it there.
Many thanks.

I didnt realize this would spur a heated debate!? I value everyones opinion the same and the research that I do on the sugestions is what really tips the scale one way or another, it usually ends up in the middle though hahaha. The tank is a 125, so 18" front to back.

edit: I forgot to add that I got this fish for free when I bought a tank and all the owner could tell me was a catfish lol.

I'm honsetly not feelin either a P.Blochii or a P.Albofasciatus... I'm going to take the high road here and say it's a Hybrid...Perhaps Wayne will stop by and pick up something here that I'm not seeing... i don't feel that the Lateral line is pronounced enough to be a Albo...but I've not seen any larger specimens

Are these pics suffiecient? Is there anything else I could do to help you guys out any?

anyone else wanna weigh in?
