:) thanks buddy! I am very intrigued to figure out what this guy is, is there any other place I could post a picture for more info?

Like bass said if you give wayne some time he will tell you exactly what it is. Or confirm whats already been said. But if you want to try somewhere else, maybe planetcatfish forums, but i try to stay away from there, cause they get really nasty over there.

No, I dont want to as I am not a member there and dont want another forum on the list hahaha Ill just wait for Wayne who is apparently the Mayne hahaha sorry its early as hell

I think there is considerable confusion over exactly which species - this to me looks like many large albofasciatus that I have seen - grown on from juveniles , the differences maybe subtle when compared to blochi - but blochii at larger sizes does not tend to have the small spotted pattern - rather large spots or blotches - (normally larger spots) - the white line is consistent with albofasciatus, although I have seen many specimens of blochii that also exhibit such a stripe -

The size is consistent with albofasciatus.

It would really depend upon the locality of collection - presuming its a wild caught fish - I would doubt hybrid - although could be possible -

one other possibility is P. ortmanni -

Thanks Carl, I have looked at all the pictures of each of the three species mentioned, blochii, ortmanni, and albofasciatus and I still cant lean one way or another as to what this guy may be. I cannot find that many pictures of each species so that may also be a limiting factor.

I have had one other person tell me it maybe an ortmanii

Thanks Leah! I love this guy, I can already tell he is slowly becoming my favorite!
