Need better way of cleaning poo from sand

I just took the end off from my gravel vac and used just the hose itself to spot clean the poo. Simple, effective, and no $$$ spent. As long as you keep the hose just above the sand you will suck up little to no sand and all the poo.

yep exactly

for cleaning debris i take the gravel vac off and use just the hose. it works very well, you just have to be more careful. If you have pool filter sand, you don't even really have to be very careful (its so heavy).

If your doing a WC drain the tank with a gravel vac, and while its draining get just a hose and pick up all the fish poo and clean the sand.

If your sands fine enough, like mine. I scrape the surface with a fish net, and shake. Sand falls out, poop/scales/other remains stay trapped in the net, then just toss em in the bucket with the water change.

I tried taking the end off the python and just used the hose but it sucked up the sand as well. So I am still using the pressure from the hose while filling and pushing the poop to one corner. Going to go to Lowe's sometime this week to get a bigger hose to retrofit it to my old vac.
