there's a reason why he's not giving you the vin, think you should wait it out for a more solid deal. anybody with nothing to hide would give you the full vin no Q's asked.

I agree. I passed up a couple '69 stangs before I bought mine. If this one fails you, just be patient. You'll find others.

At this point I would just skip it. There will be others. But one thing that might be stopping him from giving the vin besides being shady he might be worried you will find the owner and if he only owes say 500.00 to the shop you could cut the shop out. In other words pay his bill take the car and the shop gets less money on the deal. Just a thought.

That's a very good point.

Just got this from him.

Hello, the car is going up to Daytona Beach this weekend, my friends son is thinking of finishing it and taking it to some show that is up there in March. Anyways, I will have him call you once he is up there
thanks

also, the car is not stolen, never wrecked, just need to apply for a title

LOL you better run and give him the money or it's sold. And the car must be almost perfect he's going to show it in march. March 1st is in a few days. :screwy: Skip this car

something just doesnt add up in my head i mean the numbers are what make a mustang the price it is or any classic muscle, thats why there so much money, the more original and condition plus driving history all adds up to give a car what its worth..... id wait till you can see it in person when his son drives up there and make SURE the car hes slling you is the one your looking at, ive sen scams pulled where they show you an identical car that they never plan on selling and sell you a piece of **** that is the same car just wrecked. so make sure you memorize or write down those numbers......
