need help bad

i do treat my water when water changes....the ph is always the same i dont treat for ph my tap water is 7.6......i do thry to get it to the same temp.....one day i got tired on my cichlids and called a pet store to see if they would trade my cichlids for some baby rbp....so no more than 3 hours.....they dideat but not as much as i would like them 2......this is what i think happen....im no expert just a theory....i think since i didnt have a air stone there was a lack of oxygen so they got sick and by the time i fix the problem they where to sick to get well....and the last one probably got some type of parasite like ick that attacks weak fish...
