I'm picking up a 150 gallon tank next week. The only thing I know so far is it will be a salt water tank. I'll probably pick up 150 lbs of live rock some time during the week as well. I am having the hardest time deciding what do stock the tank with though. I have a 3 gallon reef tank. I don't know if I want this 150 gallon to be a reef tank, because then I will be more limited on the fish I can use. What do you guys think?

There are several reef friendly fish to have both fish and reef. I have several freshwater tanks but one has oscars, the other brackish, and the other a breeding tank for guppies and tetras. It's nice to have a variety. But the decision is all up to you, what do you realy want to do with it?

I would do a nice 150 gallon reef tank so many reef fish to have and bigger space and more room for nicer fish and more fish as well as corals just take your time in setting it up and ask questions for help and guidance as well as ideas

I have a warehouse full of tanks with a variety of freshwater fish. This tank will be in my kitchen. I really just want it to be a good eye catcher.

I'd really like to get a bamboo shark as long as I could put other fish with him/her. I really want a tang and or lion fish. They have to be top on my saltwater list.

Give it to me. ;)

Or make it a reef.

Ha good one :) I really want to keep a bamboo shark in it. I'll up grade when needed. I'm just unsure what I can keep with a bamboo. I'd really like to be able to house more then just a bamboo shark.

Tank will be here saturday. I need to figure out what I am going to use for filtration. I'd really like to build a sump, that would allow for a refugium and protein skimmer. I made a sump for my 135 gallon out of a 35 gallon rubbermaid bin, but the bin was so large it hardly fit under the stand. This tank will be in my kitten and will have to have a very clean look to it.

Purchase realistic looking corals, it would look like a eef tan, but with out the hassel of keeping the reef alive....also you have a variety of fish to choose from

I think I'll stick with the real stuff. I don't know why but I just cannot use face coral. Just knowing it's not real bothers me.
