Need help finding the rights fish for me. S.o.s help

i would look at hujeta gar / needle nose gar
they are false gar but they are pretty aggressive when it comes to feeding :)

+1 I had a needlenosed gar awhile back. Very aggressive feeder

+1 i had hujeta/rocket gar before. They can only reach 8"-10" maximum, so 20/30 gal would be fine.
as you mentioned you're looking for a small aggressive fish, this guy eats rather large fish for its size (larger than its head)
it is also hardy and very easy to keep. Also, add a bit of salt to ur tank as these guys love saltwater
 
Rocket Gar, yeah, the Characin species. The actual Needlenose Gar, which is the Asian Freshwater Needlefish, needs a muuuuch larger tank.
 
I would say in a tank that size, your going to be very limited with predatory fish that can eat minnows...

If you had a 25G - 30G tank i would recommend a Congo Puffer T.Murius, since they are a lurker species thats a piscivore by nature that would seem to be right up your ally...

Otherwise, in anything thats 20G or less, i would recommend a group of dwarf puffers, preferably 1M to the rest female ratio depending on tank size..
