rid-x is literally the best thing I've started using in all my tanks. My crappies were harboring some weird patchy fungal growths on their fins for months, I dosed $$$$ in meds but it always came back, used rid-x heavy for a month and it just up and disappeared from them completely.

Yeah the benefits to using it are so numerous, i havent had a sick fish or issues in almost 1 yr. Best part is not having to gravel vac everything breaks down

I've got a box of Rid-X sitting on the counter, but I haven't been able to bring myself to try it :o I mean I don't have particularly sensitive fish so I shouldn't be so paranoid right? O_o

I was like that at first, i was hesitating to use it but alot of people convinced me to use it, and it works well, less bioload in my filter and my sand, and water turns too crystal clear. All thanks to the people here in MFK.

I research stuff to death... I even read that entire insane thread about it in one of the other subforums, but saw some horror stories too... though I kind of chalked those up to husbandry issues rather than the actual Rid-X. Guess I should give it a shot, the idea of the waste actually breaking down instead of collecting is really enticing.

I'd be interested in checking it out if either of you still have it sitting around. I've read a lot of different stances on the appropriate dosages. I'd most likely set it up in a bag in my sump so all the bacteria gets blasted into the display tank without any of the sediment
