OK the time has come
I've been smoking for 25 years (yes like an ass I started at 15 what can I say I went to boarding school with europeans)
I am coughing my head off, and it's expensive
figure a carton and a half a week at 36 usd a carton so about 200 a month i spend on cigs alone?
I could get fish with that money.

How do I do this???
I'd like to hear from people who were seriously heavy smokers and managed to succeed

Please no reasons as to why I should quit or moral judgements. I've made the decision I just need to actually do it.

Just how-tos
Thanks Guys
Judy

I have yet to quit. But my step-dad quit 2 years ago.The first step is wanting to quit.If you don't want to quit your not going to quit no matter what you do.It may take a 100 tries. He used the patches and gum.Now he just chews gum.

I smoked form 13 to 28. I tried everything. The bottom line for me was very simple.

Just don't smoke anymore. Period. Thats it.

Dont mean to sound snide or whatever, but I'm for real. I quit 3 times before I finaly really quit. I am 2 years in and have cravings only when someone is smoking near me. Just remember that you have not always smoked. It will take some time, but things get better.

Just Quit.

That is the other key.

You realy have to want to quit. Every time I tried I told people that I wanted to quit, and I thought I did. I realized one day that I actualy didnt want to smoke anymore, didn't want my kids seeing it, and seeing there father die of some smoking related illness. Also didn't like the idea of something haveing control over my life. JUST QUIT!!!!!!

Thanks,
Chris

I've "tried" before. I completely agree that the key is to really want to quit. I think that I'm kinda lucky though. I think that I'm more physically addicted to them than chemically. When I'm working, I can go all day without them, but as soon as I get in my car or truck, out they come.

get pneumonia
4 real,heres a link i started.
i havent smoked a cig in 5 months now :headbang2
i do "puff" on little filtered cigars.i dont inhale "ya i know clinton"
alot of people say its still smoking but its cheaper and better i think then cigs.
my cigars come in a pack just like cigs.i go through about a pack every 3 days instead of a pack a day of cigs.
i thought i would never quit cigs.
after food and waking up was the worst without a cig.
i feel a 100 times better tho.i dont get winded like before.
and i dont go to bed hacking and i dont wake up hacking.
im around smokers alot also,i think thats why the cigars help.
unfiltered cigars are real bad tho,and if ya inhale its pointless.
i been slowing on the cigars to,one day they might be gone.
but there helping me stay away from cigs so im happy.
