Need help from sucessful ex-smokers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Both my sister and her husband were heavy smokers,..i mean you never saw him {especially} with out a cigarette.. there is a new medicine that you get {perscribtion from doctor}that lets you quit slow.. you take a pill every day..then you increase it to two pills.. you eventually lose all desire for a cigarette and at the same time have no withdrawal symtoms and no other indication of taking anything.. you just smoke less and less and in about 2 weeks none.. and they never suffered a pang of nervousness or anxiety or sleeplessness.. so maybe you should look into this method that seems the easiest and most effective.. if he did it anyone can.. :)

I just started quiting today. I have tried the patch before and it helped for a month, but i started back up one night at a party.

Now I'm trying to just quit. I will know in about a week if that works.

best of luck.. for some people it is as easy as just putting it down and out..but if you are not that type ..don't suffer .. get something to help.. but only you know yourself and your determination.. and hope you make it.. just keep thinking about all the money you will save and all the other positives that come with it..mostly of course feeling better.. ;)

See, thats the only way to quit, you have to train yourself to say no. Thats all.

Meant to add that the med. is Zyban. Didnt work for me, but I guess for some it makes things easier. Check it out with your Doc.

Read this on another forum.

a good way to quit is to go to google, type in lung cancer, and search for pictures of what your lungs are going to look like. print it out and put it in your wallet. everytime you want to light up, pull out that picture and give it a good look.
