Need help from sucessful ex-smokers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea, but the same chemicals are in your blood. Maybe not as much, but your body still absorbs it. You still smoke. IMO you didnt really quit. It would be harder for me to do what you are doing. Unfortuately I am a true smoking addict. It's all or nothing for me, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one in this boat.

IMO you didnt really quit.
:screwy:
i havent smoked a cig in 5 months.
a cigar once in a while isnt a cig or 2 an hour.
i spend at the most 5 bucks a week,cigs were 25 a week.
no smoke goes in my lungs,vs 20 cigs a day in my lungs.

call it smoking but no smoke enters my lungs so i consider it 100% quit cigs and smoking.
i dont need or crave cigars so its not an addiction like cigs was.
i dont wake up and run for them like a smoker,or need\crave one after dinner or "wrestling"

midnight, whether you are smoking cigars or cigarettes, you're still smoking. The ill effects are the same any way you add it up. I know for me, I was addicted to the familiarity of smoking. I loved the image of leaning against a wall, putting a cigarette to my mouth, and lighting in. In all honesty, I never enjoyed tobacco.

Then again, I guess smoking cigarettes isn't the end of the world. I've got friends that hide$250 a week coke habits from their parents. Crazy times we live in I suppose.

Google Chantix. We dispense it all the time and I've talked to many patients that it has worked well for.
KNH

Smoked three cigs total at work today (i can go through half a pack )
and felt a million times better than the end of the day
I like the idea of not having to make sure I'll have cigs, like buying a carton at a time. I did pick up two packs on the way home from work
$10
that's another way to think about it
I called my dr and asked for a call in for chantix, I met a lady at work who was telling me about it.
I need the drug and also have a stock of the habotrol inhalers lol
I tend to use it as a displacement activity so rather than get all in someone's face i just walk away and have a cig. I'm a fraid I will turn into a mega***** and get fired!!
I did quit when i was 22, ok 18 years ago, went from jogging 2 miles a day to 5 in like nothing, still gained 15 pounds in 6 weeks
by the end of that 6 weeks my mom threw a pack in my face and said you are such a ***** just smoke  I'm one of those people that can't do one once in a while, I'm up to 1 1/2 packs right away I have quit at other times like when i've had bhronchitis

I like smoking unfortunately
I just don't like the consequences
And I am stunned when i look at all the little denial tricks I use about general health and smoking.
I mean do I even have mucociliary clearance anymore?

hmm well i have lots of cross stich things i haven't worked on in a while
and the chantix seems like the majic bullet
and although usually i worry about side effects of meds (how dumb is that when you think of it:screwy: )
I think that the benefits so far outweigh the risks that need to get on this plan and just do it

Thanks again
If my posts become evil and flaming and i get banned at least You'll know I'm healthier

I smoked for about 16 yrs.. Was the easiest of all the other thing to stop.. :)
Plus when I was locked up I'd rather get loaded than smoke something So useless ..

the risk for cigar smokers is very low

but your risk of mouth cancer is high

suxz doesnt it? :nilly:

:iagree:

I would much rather run around with my *** cheek for my lips than just die from lung cancer :D

lol true

i will quit these too "still might puff on one once in a while tho".

all i know is they helped me quit cigs and 5 months later still no cigs.
that was my point.
and i dont do pills.
one pill mentioned my girl said she heard a person took it and ended up feeling really bad for days.
