Good luck with your Jar, it would suck to lose him after all the years you've had him.
 
Might want to check for voltage leaks into the water? Maybe after the move, your new power supply has a bad ground? It's a long shot but water test kits wont find this and the fish seems stressed. It's a long shot but just a possible. Anyway good luck, hope everything turns out good and keep us updated.
 
wow thats definitely an interesting thing to look forward to. i never would have thought a voltage leak would ever be an issue...makes sense though i suppose!

he seems to be at peace whenever im not in the room. then when i come inside he starts trying to "swim to the sky" then after about a minute he hides in the corner facing away from me.

Another good point.
Voltage leak is is unlikely from he has described, but cetainly not something to rule out.

Yeah, I agree, highly unlikely. I just wanted to throw it out there as a possibility.
