Need help on cycling

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
OK everyone, is it best right now for me to just use foam and biomax?
Will putting in another biomax speed up cycling?
If i remove the carbon bag and ammonia remover, can i wash it and save it for later on use? or its not reusable anymore? (note that its only 2 weeks old)

Like everyone says, Cycling a Tank takes time. You must be patient Grasshopper.

i dont understand why are you against the carbon. Is it that useless? Dont i need it to clear up the water? Its so cloudy!

A cloudy tank is a sign of a Non Cycled Tank. Carbon will not Cycle a tank faster. Put the media in the filter correctly and wait. Keep checking your parameters.

You don't LISTEN to people Advice. Patience is the key. take it easy on the water changes. like what everyone said. follow the direction on the AC110 manuel. your water is cloudy because your H20 is not cycled. What substrate are u using? if you want buy one more AC110. i have 2 ac110 on my 60gallon. patience is the key. Your stressing your fish and yourself. Good Luck.

Would you like to point out where I stated to do less water changes?

IMO he needs to do more water changes, the fish are what is important, ammonia and nitrite levels need to be kept a least under .5ppm for the sake of the fish.
The tank will cycle, it will not cycle quicker with more ammonia.

Carbon removes some things from your tank, but the same is also removed along with nitrates during water changes, so this makes the carbon useless. Carbon is really only good for removing medications.

The ammonia remover can only remove so much ammonia before it is saturated. It will then need replaced or recharged. I would not use it and just keep up with your W/Cs

OK so remove the ammon remover, and carbon, and continue doing my every other day w/c.
Right? ok got it.
