what u got sounds good for inside I would keep no more than five or six smaller 5to6 inch. Less agressive malawians because yellow labs are pretty peaceful I made the mistake of a lab and red zebra lab is constantly being picked at by mates some species like a little salt but most are just fine without it I hope I helped
i agree the electric yellow is very docile so if you choose some of these pic out some tank mates with the same personality..such as the mentioned ones...

Please correct me if im wrong.

1. Dustpan all the gravel out the tank
2. Siphon out any junk or debris left at the bottom
3. Shoudl i take out all the water then put sand or leave the water in and dump sand then arrange?
4.Even out all the sand
5-Work on the rock work/caves
6- Add Fish?

Anything im missing?

Thanks again

start from scratch...clean the entire tank ..take it all down.. shop vac if you have one takes it all out..then put background on tank... so you do not have to move it with it filled.. etc ..or because you cannot get to it when filled.. then put sand in... then water.. then cycle.. decorate at leisure.. caves, fake plants... rocks... then fish :D
