start from scratch...clean the entire tank ..take it all down.. shop vac if you have one takes it all out..then put background on tank... so you do not have to move it with it filled.. etc ..or because you cannot get to it when filled.. then put sand in... then water.. then cycle.. decorate at leisure.. caves, fake plants... rocks... then fish :D

The process of cycling:P

If you're asking for the process of cycling, just google it. It'll tell you everything you need to know.

yellows would be good for that tank. the ph needs to be around 8.0, but at least 7.8. the temp. need to be around 78*F, and you also need special food for them. the container will say "Cichlid Flakes" or "Cichlid crisps". mine only seem to eat the flakes, but when they get bigger I'm going out in the fields and catch crickets for them. :naughty: :naughty: :FIREdevil

or Cichlid-forums.com can tell yo alot about them, but they use their scientific names for them.

Thanks very much

I use sea salt and keep the tank nicely salted to get better color!!!They love sand or cruched coral the best or the cichlid substrate that stuff all needs a really good rinsing out though or your tank will look like milk... you planning on breeding them or gonna do an all male tank?
