well my friend, money is definately a factor :grinno:
i dont have a job, but i randomly have like 65 dollars lying around, so on sunday im gonna pick up some heat domes, (one for heat, other for UVB/UVA)
and some bulbs, with a 30 % discount im sure thatl cover ot ;)
also maybe some substrate and climbing material would be nice if i have a bot of cash leftover.

My moms the type thatl buy me the lizard if i get the setup up and running, and theres a really nice juvie at my local petstore that im sure shell get for me thats pretty cheap :)

only get one dome for the heat bulb.

for the uvb you will need to get the tube light and a fixture ( you can get a fixtur cheap at like home depot) but the tube like will cost maybe a min. of about 35$.

if you use a compact uvb bulb it can c ause your reptile to get blind, shouldnt try it.

50 for a juvie CWD is over priced, there is some on kingsnake now for 20 that are sub-adults, and 250 or a AWD is rediculous maybe in a few years , LLLREPTILE had them for 79 dollars a few weeks back.

good luck

hes also in canada, so his prices will be higher.

ya... avg price for a crested gecko here is 80+
look at the thread for the montreal reptile expo that i went to and look at the prices, wayy high

I THINK that one is the combo uvb/basking bulb, and someone didnt recomend it to me, its best for a tube uvb and a seperate dome light for the heat bulb, with the tube you will get more use for the uv rays since it is longer and will hit your lizard in all areas!

this may be a lil bigger than what you're thinking, i dunno what classifies a monitor as "big", but how about an iguana? easy to find, easy to feed.

Or if you're willing to invest, a giant leopard gecko or two would work. they get up to 200 grams in weight, but im not sure about actual body size.

But much expensive to house, aint that easy to feed, very large, demanding and even potencialy dangerous lizards;) I would defenetly go for a water dragon:D
