Need help to ID the gender of the multifasciatus individuals.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would not be surprised to see them breed even under this crowded conditions.
Thanks for the hopes, let me see if I can speed up the process of getting that 3 ft tank by Dec 1st week itself.

Meanwhile the one female which has been banished by the the group ... is it good to keep her in a small breeding incubator floating hatchery box in the same tank ?? Maybe over a period of time she might be accepted being in the same tank but out of the reach of the others ??

It might work to reintegrate the female to the group. I have only once tried it successful with a pair of Neolamprologus. I never tried with a group.

But even if it doesn't work, as long as the fish stays alive and healthy in the box till the bigger tank is there, it will be enough.

Make sure there is enough fresh water (enough oxygen) in the box.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes my tank has enough oxygen, I have a excellent HOB & at secondly I have air pump running. My breeding incubator floating hatchery box will be arriving tomorrow & will post the updates soon.

Guys,
I got breeding incubator floating hatchery box today and I have re-introduced her back to the tank keep her inside this box. At this point of time everyone is curious (I presume) and they approach the box taking turns. I still make out the aggression posture of the one out side the box and the defensive posture of the one inside the box. The only thing between them is the plastic case & the lid on the top of the box ?

Will keep you guys posted as to how it goes.
