Need help with my Oscar fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's your PH 6.6 coming out of your faucet?
Yep! I tested a bucket of faucet water and tank water both were the same. We get our water from a reservoir its always stayed on acidic side of the PH levels. I've had issues of it going below 5 before but its been pretty consistent 6-6.5 for a year now.

How are your nitrates 0?
It was 5.0 ppm when I first posted earlier, but today is my big water change day so when I gave the update its at 0 ppm now. I do one big and one small water change a week. He used to make such a mess I had to, probably my fault for still doing 2x a week on his tank while he isn't eating anymore. Just used to it cause my other 3 125s have oscars so I get in a flow of keeping up with their mess.

Just check ur test kit and make sure it’s accurate/consistent and not expired. Also may have to wait it out with the Oscar. I wouldn’t suggest antibiotics. Watch for aggression from the other fish. Maybe even move to a quarantine tank if able. Try feeding a pellet soaked in garlic or bloodworm juice.

Thank you for the help! He tried swimming again while I was feeding and he finally took a brine shrimp cube thankfully. He seems to be trying to move around more hopefully he's starting to get back to himself. I have a 40g breeder on standby incase the other fish started to get aggressive but luckily they still seem more afraid of him. I'll definitely put him in there if that's better, he's too big for my 55g. I'll get a new test kit tomorrow too just to make sure my waters okay.
