thanks will be going to my LFS to get a test kit ive had piranhas for over 3 years now and never had an issue therefore never cared for water quality/parameters
most of them do fine with tap water and conditioner i have a strong feeling my problem stemmed from a fluval 404 i had sitting in the garage for a while i noticed some discolorations on the filter foams like algae inside the foam and thought nothing of it though never washed off niether so washed them with hot water and thought nothing of it.. i think they might have had some bad bacteria in it possibly..
i since the water change boiled all the trays and canister and pump and lines and replaced with new foams and deleted the carbon for the melafix..
