not to beat a dead horse, but you will be changing water for a long time, if you don't add real benificial bacteria.

You can cycle tanks with fish in them- what BB would you recommend, (IF BOTTLED) because I have yet to find a bottled version that works.

ive also tried and couple different kinds and nothing has worked yet. I really think Im going to have to get the other tank filled and hopefully start cycling it and just keep doing water changes in the 90 until the other tank is cycled. I dont have many resources where I live so Im kind of all alone in the fish department here. The only info I get is from you guys.

somebody call a medic i think we got a four car pile-up

Stop feeding them for about two days and let everything catch up (bubbles, filtration, bacteria growth) and when you do feed them be specific to getting each fish his piece of food .. and also try to get a bottom for cultivation to start up faster.. also dechlorinate the water well..

what do you mean to get a bottom for cultivation? I need to condition my water even though there isn't any chlorine?

Substrate. And you should always condition.

Yes. until the water reads in appropriate numbers. Make sure your testing NItrites and Nitrates as well. Nitrites along with ammonia will tell you where in the cycle your at. And the presance of Nitrates will help show your Colonies growth. What does your water read straight out of your tap? I always used water condition when I was on a well because we had alot of heavy metals in our water. To get some exact numbers have the city do a test on your well, it will give you a rundown of whats in your tap water. Or if it's been done get the paper out and read it. It's possible if you have elevated levels that might be inhibiting BB growth.

What are you running in your filters? You should have ample bio-media in those filters run from stock. The fact you've always had ammonia issues suggests to me your not running enough bio-load to give the bacteria optimal colony growth. You may need to swap out carbon for bio-balls or similar bio-media space.

I think the ammonia ammonium conversation has happened
but get a good liquid test kit that won't give false readings for ammonium
and find out where you really are before making this plan

50% water changes daily with Prime or Amquel plus. Problem solved.
You will still get an ammonia reading from a test kit but it is a false reading. The ammonia is neutralized into ammonium.

Found it
Test strips and API kits can give these false readings
