Need help

Id go with a melafix/pimafix or api fungus cure combo, salt and an increase in WCs. If after an 80% WC your nitrates were 20 then before that they must have been pretty high. Ammonia burn? You wont be able to tell if there was an ammonia spike since you didnt test before the huge WC. My red wolf got what looks like that after i didnt notice a jumping wound (cut on the snout) for a few days.

There any plecos in the tank? Or have you observed any bullying?

The 20 nitrates was taken the day after a WC and heavy supper they received.

There's no pleco or bullying. The endli and delhezi are my oldest poly, 6 yrs old and never battled with this kind of sickness before.

you're the 2nd person to recommend the api fungus care, I would like to ask why do you think fungus care is necessary?

^ pimafix or the api fungus stuff in combination w/ a anti bacterial like melafix works wonders w/ my fish. Makes sure your covering both sorts of infections, you could potentially have both so to be sure i would

may I ask why you don't want to use meds? a lot of people use both type of meds just in case something else is starting a lot of the time a secondary infection starts because the fish is weak from the main problem. Any time I have a sick fish I crank the heat up do salt baths and use mela fix and I do a maracyn plus bath cause i'm allergic to it I don't put it in the tank.

Its not that I really don't want to use any meds. I just want to make sure that the meds im going to buy would work. Btw, what's the solution of mixture with your salt baths? Like how much salt you're using.

oh gotcha well mela fix prima fix and maracyn plus works great ive used them for years. for salt bath I use a hydrometer and make sure its at 1.023 most the time I just get it out one of my saltwater tanks. make sure you get the water from the tank so its the same temp.I would start out with 60 secs then the next day 2 mins never go over 5 mins. make sure to keep a eye on him and make sure if he look distressed to remove him. he will prolly float that's normal. some fish don't do well with salt baths so if you think at all something is wrong take him out. I cant stress that enough.

Thanks for the help guys, I went ahead and added the meds this morning. We'll see how they do in the next few days.

Good luck with them I home they get better fast. Forgot to add how to make a saltwater bath out out freshwater salt 4 tablespoons per gal

A big thanks to everyone who helped me. I treated with fungus care and melafix with frequent WC and salts. Everyone is doing great now. The only problem now is the hole in my pocket since I treated the whole tank, but its worth it :)
