I don't think that's a black belt, it looks more like a synspillum to me. I'm basing this opinion on body shape and the "dot" on the tail that synspillum often times have. I have 4" black belts in my shop right now, they have a very differant coloration than the fish pictured and they are more rounded in shape.

could very well be actually. definitely some kind of Vieja and I certainly wouldn't rule out the possibility of it being a mutt. any updated pics cause that pic was posted back in december?
