Mine is VERY picky Bruce. If the food isnt wiggling in some way or fashion, he wont even look at it. He didnt eat for almost a week after I got him. As of now it will only eat live earthworms and feeders. I usually get the other 3 cichla in the tank full on market shrimp and krill, then add feeders or worms so the Kelberi gets a good feed. Im not going to try and force it onto anything else untill it gets some weight on it.

Ive decided, im sticking them in the 2 footer, its easy to see them eating and tell if theyve been feeding.

Ill keep you all updated
 
bro give up on the pellets nd cut foods, i thought i mentioned this in another thread ... STOP BEING STUBBORN AND JUST FEED THEM FEEDERS TILL THE COME TO THE TOP.. with all the moves and starving them, you going to wind up stressing them out and killing them, wild cichla are touchy ... read the kelberi thread, your not the only person with this problem

i totally forgot that kelberi were much more picky than any other cichla!:nilly:
so right now,go with what boosten and many others said.
