If these are kelberi wildwoods in the UK has just got a shipment of these in labled up as wild ocellaris but are exactly the same as the ones Bruce posted and from the same suppllier. They are £54.95 each or 3 for £150. Thats $94.55 for one or 3 for $258.09 for 3.

Thats what I said to my wife but wildwoods is an expensive shop there is no guide price in the UK for bass as they are not all that common shops can basically chargfe what they want. Its only because they had caught some crenicichla that got in to there tank that they caught my eye. Then on closer inspection I could tell they were not ocels and were infact the same sp as were posted on here the stipe running into the tail was the give away. But £54.95 is good for kelberi if thats what these fish are then £54.95 for orino is good aswell.

Ive been playing with them they are much more alert now, i chucked in a load of pellets for my geos and the cichla were swimming around the pellets, ive thrown in worms and flaoting pellets and they were showing lots of interest, and watching tankmates eat food. They were going for worms but my ATF grabbed em first. I tried some garlic extra on some hikari food s and they darted for it but it got eaten before them

When i added garlic extra to the water they were much more active. I reckon i can get these eating very soon. They are still very alert. If not ill use feeders.

I've starved my kelberi for 6 weeks before and all I got was the largest one mouthing a frozen krill. Pellets? They could care less. Even when surrounded by fish that hit everything they just swim around and completely ignore a tank full of food.

I think this is a fish that you have to dedicate live foods for life. If they start eating frozen foods or market shrimp, consider yourself lucky.

Ive just been out and i thought id give them some earthworm, i stood back cut them up and chucked them into the tank and my cichla chase the worms untill i think they are about to eat em then stop.

But my ATF had a big worm hanging out of his mouth and both kels were chasing after him! Trying to pinch his worm.

Im hoping the tiger will teach em.

My Kelberi is retarted. I drop feeders in with him and sit there still as can be and he won't eat. I mean the fish can swim right in front of him and nothing. Then I left another tank light on so the room would be dim, closed the door with a little gap. As soon as he couldn't see me BAM he was owning feeders.

That could be why mine chase after worms but when they come to the front they stop, parhaps they see me.

Bruce Listen to us Scat hit the nail right on the head. They are dedicated perdatory CHASE fish. If it runs from them they will eat it. ;) Shrimp is just the taste, smell, and I figure this is a main stapple for them in the wild. This is the size shrimp I feed and it is Fresh Water Jumbo shrimp $10.00 lb. And I consider myself lucky but I had to work at this as well. And as far as the not eating in front of you, they will do this of course when stressed. Once they feel more comfortable then they will eat and eat big. I just got mine to start eating from my hands and they were eating nothing not even feeder's like your's a week ago. Just don't give up and keep trying. (GET SOME FEEDERS)
