The problem with feeder isn't just that they could be bad, or lack nutrition. It can also cause them to stop eating other types of food and not eat frozens or prepared.
It isn't the tank size as the Johanna that I spoke of is temperarily housed in a 55 right now and has been there for a month waiting to ship to someone interested purchasing it and he started eating. Garlic is said to help entice them to eat working to stimulate appetite. Personally I never had any luck with it.
I think he is just being finicky right now, He will get hungry enough. I never had a pike not eat after starving a period of time with the exception of my Trombeta. And
she was starved to try and get her off of feeders for 21 days. It did not work for her, so after 21 days I went back to feeding quarantined and gut loaded feeders.
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE, STUBBORN SOB.

I'm more worried about just getting to him to eat right now, as long as he eats something. Hes 14" now so who knows what he grew up eating. I have to ween him onto anything at this point. He will eat whatever I feed him later. Thanks for the advice.

try a earth worm

i put a live ghost shrimp in my tank because my marms wouldnt eat the krill at first now they love it... but as soon as the ghost shrimp hit the sand the marm did like a upside down flip and it was gone... crazy

my girlfriend got him to take down a few large NLS pellets last night so that was good. One of those pellets probably had more volume then 4 ghost shrimp anyways lol.
Thats great !!! pikes can be very hard to get onto pellets i would still try to give it some frozen foods also try live crayfish if you can there great treats and are great foods expecially if gut loaded before feeding and i've NEVER had a cichlid turn down a live cray flipping all over the place its fun to watch them eat crays to

crays are too costly around here and I don't intend on keeping this fish forever. Just finding him a better home and making the money back I spent on him.
