Hello fellow bro/sis! I need alot of advice and pics to follow by I am moving to another location that is allowing me to do an in wall tank install!:headbang2anyways I am in construction and know the basics on how to do this and trim it when its done but my real question is how to seal it from the otherside in the garage from creating a draft on the inside????? and should I do any sort of isulation to the tank besides underneath it where it sits on my stand? Any words of wisdom will help thanks.

if you can cut the hole out very close to actual size just use DAP for windows and doors, it will stop the draft if your holes a little bigger buy a can of "Great stuff" its an expanding foam insulator, but be careful not to spray to much as it expande quickly and continusly. if you spray to much you will probably push the drywall off the studs or crack the glass.

yes thats what i figured on using for this but my thaught is to see how others have done it from start to finish so its really fresh in my mind so if any of you out there have any pics it would really help

ill try to look up some pics for you, they wouldnt be step by step though, just befor and after as im a general contractor. i did an install about a month and a half ago in a wall of a tile shower so ill see if i can find those for you

thanks that would help yeah like i said i know how to but need the idea fresh in my head to go ahead with it nicely

wll with your install it might be a little different as the wall i was cutting out was just an interior, yours sounds like a supporting, if your tank requires you to cut out afew of those studs you might have to re-frame a section with jack and king studs.

yes i will have to do this i will have to reframe the header joist and also square it out with 2x4's after the cut this I am totally aware of

well only in the winter theres a bad draft in the garage only the home is very very well insulated
