I noticed the last couple days my 21" RTC is not being himself. Loss of appetite, swimming like a drunk and laying on the bottom. All of the other fish seem fine. I did a light water change last night to see if that would help anything. Didn't notice anything better before I left for work this morning. Any ideas?:(

is the rtc active when the light is off?

He didn't purk up when the lights went out. They all go nuts when the lights go out and come right up to me when I approach the tank because they know it's feeding time. But the RTC didn't seem to care. He looks normal, no injuries other than someone bit one of his barbles short, but that's nothing new. The tank lights just recently gone off for the night and still no perking up. The only other thing I for got to mention is that he is breathing harder than normal.

Gill Curl would be visable and the only cure for it is regular water changes. There are different things it could be but we would need as much information as you could give, Sounds like you might actually have some water param issues, High Nitrates will cause these types of symptoms

hmmm you say someone has bit of your 21" RTCs barbel
what are the tank mates
is only one of the barbels bit off or more than a few are bit off
