Need RTC help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My sig mentions what's in the tank. The other cats get their barbles bit once in awhile also. Don't know who's doing it, maybe the cats sticking them where they don't belong?!:duh:

is he shedding mucus?
Not that I have seen. I've seen my Lima cat do this in the past. Is it a sign of something? I thought it was shedding a very thin layer of skin. Can't say if I've ever seen the RTC do this or not. Anyhow, his skin feels dry.

Have you fed any live food? If so could be a parasite. I had an rtc that did this and I treated him with Prazipro and the problem was resolved overnight. I think Fosters and Smith have the best price. Its harmless to the biofilter and the fish.

I do not feed them live food. They eat raw lean beef, raw fish and shrimp pellets. The meat they get 3 times a week, the rest is pellets. The meats get switched every other time. I took a couple pics of the RTC, now I gotta figure out how to post them.

Here's a couple pics of my RTC. I just observed something else, when he does try to swim, he looks like he fighting to swim up. When he stops, he sinks.

How is he doing now??

Still strugles to the surface and sinks like a rock, but he did come up to eat last night. His breathing doesn't seem to be as labored.

What sort of aeration do you have in there? Maybe some airstones might help him breath better and take some of the stress away.

Hmm, something doesn't look right to me in that picture, but I can't put my finger on it.

BTW that has got to be an awesome tank, I'd love to see some full tank shots!
