Need some advice

I always think of a recovery tank as a 'comfort' space made cozy. Fish relax more when acclimating. Less stress=better healing.

Yeah, I understand. Getting her stress reduced was one of the main reasons I moved her to my bedroom. Less activity around the tank. New home on top of horrible illness, I'm honestly surprised she had settled in so well in the first place.

This is what I have so far.
Just need to hunt down the fake plants. I have some SOMEWHERE.
Add some fake floating plants/ vines. I'd put a skim of sand on the bottom to reduce all the reflection and glare. Couple piles of smooth stones too. If necessary tape a piece of cardboard to the sides. May have to go with a higher dose of prime to get that ammonia under control. Good luck!

Good start. I'd put a piece of brown cardboard on the back to get rid of all the white. Or you can use a velcro strip with fabric.. Add smooth river stones too...can grab those at the dollar store. You're gonna have to give your fishy a cool name!

I named her Bellatrix Lestrange.
I was originally going with Voldemort, but from my poor skills combined with Google, I suspect he's actually a she.
She's still smooshed in her flower pot this morning. I ordered some fake plants Incase what I have isn't enough.
I will definitely get something on the backs and sides of the tank today.
Got my fingers crossed for her. ??

I'm thinking that (a) she's gonna lay eggs or (b) she's stressed. If no eggs it's stress. Turn the pots sideways and stagger them so she won't feel so exposed and open. That way she can tuck behind pots if she wants to. :grinyes:

100% cats jumping on the tank. I left my bedroom door open last night on accident (like the sleepy idiot I was) and woke up this morning to one of my cats on the fishtank.
They're big heavy things (15 lbs each) and are probably giving my poor fish a heart attack/earthquake every time they jump up there.
So problem found. Solution: I need to be more diligent.
