Need some help figuring out filtration. Nothing crazy though.

Cb means captive bred, wc means wild caught.

You have to go out of your way to get a wild caught Senegal bichir. The majority of freshwater fish are captive bred. The opposite is true of saltwater with the majority of saltwater fish being wild caught.

Literally everything in life is sad if you think about it long enough but let’s get back to filtration.
I would put a nice big sponge filter in there. It has lots of positives that out weigh the “negatives”. Since you have it already you can easily move it over to have an instantly cycled quarantine tank when you need one, same with fry tanks.

Thats a fact but I try not to think about it like that but I will consider the sponge filter I never had one.
