Its not a chancho. Do your homework and read some old threads. There are several of them from individuals buying these Petsmart Red Texas, and they turn out most of the time being a low grade FH, or some other ugly hybrid. But that is NOT a Chancho..

Petsmart has no idea what they have. They get their stuff bulk from God knows where, and if the plastic bag says frog, then they sell it as a frog, doesnt mean it is.

Looks like you are a bit of a newb. Maybe you should read a few more threads on this topic and then re-post here. Petsmart does NOT sell Chancho, that fish doesnt even resemble a Chancho. When we say it is a low grade FH, its because this exact same topic with many pictures has come up on here at least 100 times. So go read them...............................................

OP do you have any more pics, does it look like its getting any red or any other color, maybe black strips

Well, Segrest supplies petsmart I think, and they have chancho listed on their website...

So I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility something slipped and got mixed up as shipped out.

I don't think it's a chancho though.

Yes, Segrest Farms supplies Petsmart. Typically their "red texas" are not red texas at all, but Kamfa flowerhorn - such as this fish that is labeled by Segrest as being a red texas.

And not all of them turn out to be low quality FH.

Either way, your fish doesn't look like a chancho to me ........
