Need some help.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I sounds like some major stress or something. One thing I will ask though is did anything fall on his head. I know it sounds dumb but I had a banned that I dropped a pice of live rock on his head and he did the same kind of stuff for a couple days till he died. I felt pretty bad. Poor little guy.

well i know he has a big @ss tank and really dont see how that can be a issue. I talked to him to day and he said his water is right on. so any other ideas and how do you make it that way it swims right again?

thanks

No offense, but i hope that BIG tank your talking about is not the 100G but something more around the 1000G+ mark, also saying parameters are fine doesn't really help people on this forum, since different people say different parameters are fine so actual numbers are much more useful as far as diagnosing a problem...

ok well is nice to know that you all are more concerned about the ****ing size of the tank rather then telling what I can tell him to do to help it. I think I am getting some bull **** answers for how long I have been on here. Yeah a 100 g is not bigging nuff for its hole life but for now its fine. and far as the water everything is a 0 but the Ph is at 4.5

Hey Zoo mind helping me out please.

I wasn't messing with you about something falling on his head. I also had my nurse knock a rock over and crush a coral cat. Anyway a Ph of 4.5 is crazy low that could be your problem right there. The natural Ph of seawater is 8.3.

no i was not talking about the rock lol just think it is a crock of **** that 100g is to small for it at this time. but anyways he has nothing in his tank and why would everything be ok for almost a year and then just last week this happend? so with the pH low you think by him doing a water change it might help? I think there is something really wrong with it other then the pH.

I think maybe its equilibrium is messed up or something like that. If they have it???

Please don't take this the wrong way, but knowing exact water parameters would be a start. Zero evereything doesn't happen in a healthy shark system. I'm guessing the pH is a typ-o? It should be at 8.0 or so.
Size of the tank also matters in regards to water volume. There are other factors than water quality the volume of water plays into when looking at things like offsetting the biological load of the animals in the tank.

Upside down sounds like a neurological issue. The cause can usually be narrowed down. A blow to the animal could be one thing. Blood chemistry in the shark can also lead to odd swimming. Another factor could be stay electrical or metal / chemical in the water.

Got a pic of the set up???

Hey take it easy, we're not trying to feed you junk, we just needed to know some things to help you out and all of these things matter. Hope it turns for the better.

well 15" of fish in a hundred gallon tank IS small but that might not be the problem now but you would sure have to be doing alot of water changes to keep the water quality up. I have had fish that have seemed to be healthy for a long while and than up and died and never had an idea or answer for the death. If they start to look unhealthy and stop eating then at least we might find a remedy but if it happens all of a sudden then who knows with out an atopsy, you know?
