I'm looking to order my new tank in the near future but I am having a tough time deciding on size. It is going to replace my 300g.
My new sizes I am going back and forth on are 96x48x30
or 120x36x30
Stock list includes big gars, big aros, ray, cichla, maybe a couple cats.
Please give me your opinions because I am torn right now

I like longer tanks. As long at the tank is wide enough for the fish to turn around your good, any wider it's harder to see the fish. Now if your stocking rays then you go with as much bottom area as possible so wider is better. Your stock list, go long. IMO

also think about moving it i think the wider tank whould be better for the rays but also alot harder to handle and move, and think about where its going in your home( im sure you have) but what about the twists and turns and such

With that list and really almost any fish 10x3 will be fine and since I think length makes a bigger visual impact that's my vote.

I think I am leading toward the 10ft right now just for the visual impact as it will be the focal point in my living room I only have 1 ray so I think I'm alright. And I had a 26" aro who moved fine in a 24" wide so 36" I hopw will be fine
