Need tiny piscivore for guppy tank

I've seen some female bettas that have been quite colorful lately. You can put a few of them in the 55 and they'll get along, eat fry, swim all over, and look beautiful.
 
Lots of good ideas here! So tetras can eat fry all day and not be eating too much meat? I've used bettas in the past, but they always die of organ failure, and I'm pretty sure it's from eating too much meat/live gups.

Angelfish sounds pretty good, except for their eventual adult size, when they will eat all of the guppies...

Bumblebee gobies are brackish and that would be doable if there weren't a raphael catfish already in the tank to consider.

Some hardy tetras could be the answer. I haven't kept many small tetras, what kind are good and hardy? I'm a full-time student so I can't really put too much time into the fish right now, like I would normally for sensitive species.

My congo tetras LOVE guppy babies, they even eat them when they are about half an inch. Make sure to starve them for a bit though.
 
Don't have the $ for congos right now, but I'll probably give them a whirl someday. Is there anything like a Buenos Aires tetra that has better color? I don't mind the appearance but my wife hates red fish. I don't know why.
 
How about some black skirt tetras, head and tail light tetras (don't know another name for them) or the like?
 
How about something thats actually interesting like several microctenopomas or a dwarf pike.

Dwarf pike would be awesome, just wondering if I could keep one in a 20 long? I have way to many baby fry in there...
 
I think so, yeah. I'm gonna get one for my 29, which is the same footprint. There are a few species to look for.
 
What would keep a dwarf pike from eating adult guppies?
 
How big is an adult guppy? I was thinking they were pretty big, like molly size, when I posted. Not sure why lol. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they are more than big enough to eat adult guppies.
