If you go for frontosa go for some tank bred burundi as these will be much hardier, wild caught frontosa need to have a high and stable PH and KH and a lot of work put into them as we've found at work.

its not hard to acclimate a wild to your tank... you dont need a tank bred one

Its not as easy as that, with burundi and mpimbwe you should be ok btu with the species which stay lower down such as kampfa and moba much more care and effort is needed in monitoring and keeping a stable PH around 8.0-8.2. Not any good with a ray really.

and personally i would go with a frontosa over the loaches... and it be easier to drop a few less pieces in there is she doesnt eat all her food... but logical thinking isnt always the best choice... do a search on your loach idea... there was a guy who had a ray eat one got stuck in it and killed his ray...

I do try to limit the amount of food, and not over feed. But sometimes she is not in the mood to eat, she just recently switch from nightcrawlers.

I am still searching for a good cleaner, I though about fronts. But I have no experience with africans and I don't really find them appealing.

Anyone else with any input?

lima shovelnose eat off the bottom are not aggressive, (skittish if anything) and get to 18" so they are much too big to be food, but dont pose prededation risk, how big is ur tank? sorry if i missed, but if it is big enough for rays it is more than big enough for a lima or a few

I have a synodontis with mine and does a great job of cleaning all the left over food..

when your rays start eating more aggressively (hopefully soon)
you might have a problem making sure everyone gets food....

I i was you id hold off on the extra tankmates.

Maybe try Cuting it into small pieces and feed one at a time as she eats it.

But if you want new fish just to add stuff to the tank, any of the options the others have said should go good.
i would avoid other bottom dwellers (clown loach) because you dont want anyone to compete for food in the long run.

funny ive never had a problem... had several mobas in my tap water and no problems... and my ph is usually around 6

and you could just easily net out any uneaten pieces of food... take about 2 seconds..

yes that would be an ingenious idea, but maybe I was just giving myself a reason to pcik up a new tankmate.
