Well I have a 6" Jaguar, 2- 5" JD's , 1 12"oscar ,1 5"GT and a 10"lima shovelnose in the tank now.........Someone told me to put copper in the water.whatever they are they breed fast , everyweek when I do a water change I suck like hundreds of the lil buggers out.

Howdy,

Catfish are pretty sensitive to copper. Although it for sure will take care of whatever worms you have, it might also significantly harm your shovelnose. And if you have other invertebrates, like snails, they also go bye-bye. I agree with everyone on the biological solution: Get a cory, lifebearer or gourami or so. No need to throw out your gravel or to poison the tank.

Good luck, keep us posted on your progress,

crayfish will take care of them and so will finder crabs

Almost everybody likes tubifex, even giant gouramis will scoop up and spit out mouthfuls of gravel to get them. Just try to get cultivated ones and check them for other organisms before putting them in the tank, most will be eaten right away but a few usually survive so do it often enough and you will soon have a colony.

I had the same problem with some snails awhile back and the only thing i could do to get rid of them was to completely tear my tank apart and start over with new substrate. i wouldn't try copper, I would go with the cory's.

I managed to get them breeding in a tank where the ammonia, and nitrites were consistantly zero and the nitrates stayed under 20

get some macro bracium rosenbergi prawns like i have they eat everything lol

how did you get them in the tank guppy over feeding it ???
