Need to replace a faulty heater, what should I buy?

+1 for the controller! I have a ITC-308 you can calibrate it, set temoature differential of when it turns on and off. I set my heater just above the controller if the controller failers the heater doesn't stay on long.
Also this unit has a cooling funtion so I have a fan over my sump that plugs in also to help cool in the summer.

I am running the Fluval heaters in most of my tanks with the digital displays and I know that others have had issues but for me they have been rock solid and I really like being able to take a quick glance at the tank and know that temp is ok or it's not. When the 240 and 180 are finally ready they both will be using a large sump and I will probably use the Eheims on those and it will take several. I am using the 300W Fluval on a 55 gal and a 75 gal with zero issues.
