I was afraid of that, as mentioned above the acute form comes on very fast & there is usually very little chance of saving the fish.

From what you posted I think he has the chronic form as the white parts are not spreading the sma espot is more swollen...I was afraid of that, as mentioned above the acute form comes on very fast & there is usually very little chance of saving the fish.

I would not think of putting him down so fast he is not showing signs of death yet he is not laying on the floor or breathing heavily... he stays in one spot but he can still swim... Im going to give this guy a chance..He's not going to make it.. It would be best to try treatment for maybe one more day.. then think about putting him down.Hopefully he gets better.
Moving that fish to a hospital tank was a good idea, and while some believe that Flexibacter columnaris is always present in aquariums, personally I would treat your main tank as well which if nothing else will knock back the bacteria numbers that are currently present.
