Was your nitrite level that high before you had the vals in the tank?

Also do you have ammonia test?

No ammonia test and to tell the truth I never really test my tank it's always been fine for me. Would the nitrates kill my plants I was thinking of buying seachem matrix to put in my canister filter. Or do u think my lighting could be cAuseingit

Jungle val needs relatively low lighting so I wouldn't say it's the lights. But if you all of a sudden started using the Flourish it could be what's causing the browning. IMO I would stop dosing any ferts for a few days and see if any changes occur and if all is well slowly start dosing again. Typically a very hardy plant.

The nitrItes will eventually but the nitrites indicate there is ammonia. So maybe you are mini-cycling. Not enough beneficial bacteria to convert ammonia-nitrite-nitrate.
