Over the years I have had varying degrees of success with Val, mostly lack there of.
But lately 2 of my tanks have come alive with it, each is a standard 55 gal.
Back in fall I picked up Vallisneria americana at the local aquarium society auction
and have since I've run out of ferts, and not replaced them.
Both tanks have shop lights, with hardware store T8 bulbs, pH from my tap is @7.5, and water hardness @ 250m/L.
One of the tanks gets a little indirect sunlight, but not the other. The only difference these days is, I've been doing small daily water changes, instead of larger ones every other day, and the current has been stepped up, enough to continuously bend the leaves.
