Needing some Serious Advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well i just bought the tank today, im having to spend my next check on proper filtration :( cant move him into it today.. but you guys really think hes okay for a couple weeks? And about him being hungry, theres a female betta in the tank with him for when "he decides" hes ready to eat, shes still there. this isnt his staple diet, i havnt tried pellets or anything else yet. thinking about getting beef heart at my local grocery store, what do you guys think?

Wow, seriously piss poor planning. Do what you got to do, you don't even have the resources to apply any advice that would be helpful.

a healthy aro will only be 3 inches for a short time. so much can go wrong in a 5 gallon. I would get that 120 up and running with some stability and get him in there as soon as you can

Are you saying thats what im doing? This tank is fully cycled and as i said i was expecting a 3 inch fish not a 6. what options do i have left? hell i already feel bad enough for the fish..

wasnt talking about your water talking abut how this was talking aboout the other dude dumping fish into a "cycle tank" that only took 4 days and they survied read the quote

No money to buy a filter for the 125G? When is pay day?

The title of the thread is "Needing serious advice." I think you should seriously return the aro until you have the resources to properly care for it. Do you realize it will outgrow your 125G? Will you have the money to buy a larger tank when the time comes? Maybe, maybe not. Why not buy a fish that you can properly care for in the 125G? There are plenty of fish you can keep for life in a 125G tank...an arowana isn't one of them.

silver aros grow way faster then you think. you should have got a 180gal to have more time to get the pond/proper tank ready. in my experience i have had one (of many aros owned) grow from 3" to 24"+ in 10 months. that is "serious advice".
