alright so today im moving some fish around between my 30 and 55 gallon. my 6 asorted african cichlids are moving into the 55 gallon from my 30. ive got all the fish in tubs right now with airstones and soon will divide them up. tub on the left goes to the 30, while the tub on the right goes to the 55. before i can begin to aclimate them though i need to know who can go into the 55 with the cichlids.

the full stock was originally

55 gallon-
3x 1' rope fish
2x 5-8" dragon gobies
2x 4" bala sharks
2x 3" red fin tin foil barbs
4x african butterflies
2x 3" jurupari
1x 3" red tail shark
1x 6" african knife
1x 3" irredecent catfish
1x 5" common pleco

30 gallon-
1x 2" common pleco
1x 2-3" african cichlids

i want to keep as many of the fish that were in the 55 as possible with the addition of the cichlids, and the 30 will hold everything that isnt compatable

i want to keep the balas and tin foils if possible to keep growing

i have larger tanks so dont flame on the potentially large fish please


which fish should i keep in the 55 out of all these and which ones in the 30?

Those dragon fish need brackish water so they need to go to another tank all together.
The others... There's not many that can go in that 30 gallon. The 55 gallon is beyond capacity so I don't advise adding any more fish. It seems crowded. You mentioned larger tanks? Can you move some of the ones in the 55 to those to make some more room?
 
everything is small. nothing can be moved to a bigger tank just yet and this is only a temporary hold. i just need to know what can co-exist with the cichlids in the 55 for right now
 
at the moment there is just a normal old 55 gallon filter. in the next couple days ill be replacing it with a DIY 10g sump filter i built with a 800gph pump on it. more than enough filtration. aggression is my only worry atm. aslong as they can co-exist for up to 4 months or so then itll be fine, and after that theyll all be upgraded to suitable long-term homes
 
little too late for that. besides, with everything worked out itd be best in the long run to move them now. like i said, i just need to know which fish would be safe to keep with them
