Needing Stocking Help ASAP

No they can't go in a 30 easily. They get 20 inches long. They don't hardly move. Mine are in a 50 gallon and move all the time. They're just mostly dormant during the day. At night I go in there to feed them and they're zipping all over the tank. Just because they snake shaped doesn't mean you can stuff them in something that small. a thirty gallon is barely one length of the fish. They'll have no room to move around. Please do what's best for them.

Tinfoil barbs are one of the best dither fish tankmates for Africans, they won't be a problem. Balas are okay, but aren't as speedy. The ID sharks are also really likely to get picked on...how big are the Africans? if they are bigger than the IDs/Balas it's a bad idea to mix them.

the blue cichlid isnt a johanni. ill get a better pic of it soon for better ID. its got big, wide, vertical stripes of light and dark blue

Without a pic, kind of sounds like a Kenyi. Still not good tankmates but you gotta do what you gotta do. You never know, it could work. Not sure where livingston is but Im near San Antonio and got an extra 10 gal. I know it is not much but atleast its something. Let me know.

the cichlids are only 2" long each, the balas are 4-5".

and from what ive heard, cichlids are normally only aggressive towards other cichlids or towards fish that look like cichlids, but can sometimes pick on other fish aswell

Aaaah just watched the video. Okay, the Cherry-fin Borleyi is really mellow. Those little gray ones look like juvenile haps or peacocks, so they'll be fine too. Yellow labs are pretty mellow unless there's a big size difference. The blue guy is your problem, very aggressive from a small size. Hard to see, but it's likely a johanni, Likoma elongatus or something similar. That's the one I would worry about.

im thinking about putting the butterflies in my 20 for now until ive built proper lids for the other tanks. the butterflies are only 2" and theres a lot of live floating plants for them to hide in
