Needing Stocking Help ASAP

You've got so many fish that require so many different water parameters that it's hard. Put them with the fish that like the PH at 8.3 and can take a bit of bullying.
The Pleco's like lower PH but they can take some bullying.
The Dragon fish need brackish water
etc...

3x 1' rope fish
2x 5-8" dragon gobies
2x 4" bala sharks
2x 3" red fin tin foil barbs
4x african butterflies
2x 3" jurupari
1x 3" red tail shark
1x 6" african knife
1x 3" irredecent catfish
1x 5" common pleco

Personally I think the ones marked in red are the most likely to get killed by Africans.

i know the ropes, dragons, knife, red tail, butterflies, pleco, and jurupari are fine. its the others im not so sure about

How do you "know" they are fine? The Afr. butterflies are one of the worst fish I can think of to put in with Afr. cichlids.

Those dragon gobies can't go in the 30 gallon though. They need a minimum of 50 gallons and at the size they are now they won't do well in the 30 gallon. They really need a brackish tank.

yes yes i know this. eventually the 30 will be all brackish and the 55 will be all AC. but until then theyll have to exist in water thats not 100% to their likings. im not too happy about putting them in this situation either, i love my fish and want them happy, but for now itll have to be like this. having them all in this water wont kill them or harm them, most likely will hardly stress them. right now the cichlids are being acclimated to slightly lower PH then they were in and are doing fine ( im using the drip-acclimation style with an airtube to slowly change the water )

That johanni is going to rip the fins off your african butterfly, and probably most of your other stock. I have tried this before...did not work. My only suggestion would be to put everything back the way it was or put your barbs, & african butterfly in the 30...beef up the filtration in it. Then hope for the best in your 55. Good luck.

Exactly...

the dragons can do a 30 gal easy, they hardly move and are very snake-like fish. at this size they can even live in a 15.

SimonL, do you think the ones marked in red should be the ones to go into the 30 for now? and do you think the balas and tin foils will be ok with the small cichlids?
