how many jars have you had? how many of them were in a community?

of my 8 jars one was able to be with some payara for a while, but in the end the jar killed them. all the other jars got to mean for anything i had. including everything in this list above. the only things i have not had are a green aro and gators. i have tried the false gar with a jar myself with the false gar being killed. i think you are mixed up on the whole gar thing.
and I think you didn't get what I meant !

whats not to get? you say in your opinion it will work. i asked your personal exp that makes you so sure that is will. instead of backing your words with your exp you said i don't understand. all you have done was repeat what you seen someone else do once, but you don't back yourself up with your own exp like i did in my statment.

so again i will ask you.

how many jars have you had?

how many of your jars were in a community?

how many gar do you have?

what have you had your gar with?

how many false gar have/do you have?

if i remember right you said before that you have not owned or own currently any arowanas so how can you give advise on something you have zero exp. with? unless i am wrong and you do have exp to share.

Don't do it. My friend has like a 4 inch Jardini, and he had a 3 inch needle nose. The Jardini and it fought to no end, which resulted in both the fish being in bad shape. He eventually ditched the gar. In my opinion, don't get ANY fish that will swim up to the Jardini's level. My friend's Jardini even fought with his datnoid.... which rarely swam up. So be selective... if anything I would get yourself a nice ray or a small RTC / TSN.

REMEMBER though, all fish have different temperaments so your jardini could be a bit less aggressive (although they are one of the more aggressive arowanas). Gamble if you got nothing to lose but remember the warnings!

Listen to this guy and anyone else that says to to this fish combination. Jardinis are the more aggresive arowana by far. The only tank mates you can have are strong bottom dwellers that can withstand deady blows. large bichirs are highly recommended.

so you thing I have to have them in able to have experience in keeping them ? I don't think so! TLKmDN is a member of this forum, and he been keeping Jar and Gator Gar with lots of other fish for years, and there is no problem with them ! I only say what I see and what I know, if you can't keep them together thats your problem. Other people can keep them together in big community pond/tank, so I say that they can be keep together in BIG pond/tank !

W8 a sec i heard that if u put like many fish like 10 discus with 1 jardni he would do fine. When I bout him he was with a bunch of discus, a ray, and some gourmis. I shipped him up from seattle. So do not complain about the freshwater ray.

if you don't have/have had any, then how could you have any experience in keeping them? TLKmDN has exp on the commune not you. also just because one person has done it on this forum that means it will work? i know of several people on here that have them in comunity tanks and not big ponds. yet i still say that from 99% of the jars in the world and this forum wont work with other fish.

also due to your ability to repeat info then turn it into exp and facts. this is a fact i have come up with. i know a person that jumped from a plane and their parachutte didn't deploy. they fell to the earth from several thousand feet up and hit the ground without having a working chutte. they lived to tell the tail. so by your ability this would mean that we all can jump without a working chutte and live to tell the tail.

just another tid bit i just spent a good amount of time reading your past posts. i found so many wrong things you have posted that i had a laugh on your expence. one example is that you said fl gars only grow to 22". my fl gar that is 1.5 years old is already 22". so this means that it wont grow any more in the many more years it will live? or the fact that you wrote that we as americans don't know how to survive cause you asians live in filth everyday and thrive. we americans couldn't live one day in the fith filled lives of you asian. i am still laughing at that one and i saw it when you wrote it.

you still have not answered the list of exp questions i asked you.

so you bring your personal problem to this thread! I want to share my opinion, thats my right! you don't have the right to judge me ! I don't need to keep that fish in able to get experience in keeping them. I don't have them doesn't mean that my friends don't have them and I never taking care of them! so My XP not just came from the fish I have, I learn a lot from friends and lots of people I know !
some people may have those fish but have almost none XP in keeping them. I've seen lots of people keeping Arowana and gars in a 50 Gallon tank for life and say that they have a lot of XP in keeping them. Those people don't even know what is a good tank size for their fish and what kind of diseases they can get, they just lucky that they never have a problem in keeping them! just saying!

For the OP, most Jardini are aggressive. The reason yours was getting along with his tankmates is the fact that it is only a baby. Wait until it's 12-18", then I'll be surprised if it can be combined with fish like discus. This is my personal experience in owning them, and working at LFS where we get a fair number of them traded in with the explanation "it's too aggressive".

Timid, skittish fish like gar, "needle-nose" and other false gar or discus are almost certainly going to get mauled or killed, especially in an 85 gal. Their aggression has a lot to do with the size of the tank, for example most Jardini's will kill other arowana. I had a 12" that attacked a 24"+ silver relentlessly in a 220. Now MFKer Arapaimag kept a Jardini in with silvers and Asian aros no prob, but the tank's 15,000 gallons.

I think they might fight sometime but not getting any serious injury ! that jar used to fight with the RTG aro a lot though ! maybe it is some special thing that the jar can get along with Gar tank-mate or maybe the gars don't want to fight and the jar afraid of the size!
