and jeep07 i noticed this morning he is alot darker than last night. and the gar you are thinking of is an alligator gar. those are monsters. i cant wait for him to go in the bigger tank. he is already getting along/used to his future tankmate, the clown knife lol.

Awesome. Yeah he looked a little light to me. I did not know they changed color overnight lol. Anyways, so thats an alligator gar, alright, im trying to think which gar type we carry, hmmm. Thats great hes getting comfortable, just make sure to keep him fed and you'll be fine. And most importantly....Enjoy it, along with the clownknive of course lol.

i hand fed him last night a big silverside and the 2nd he just tore up. im going to buy 20-30 feeder fish today and quarantine it for a few weeks and they will be ready for him in the big tank. ill do this every few weeks. should i drop them in the tank all at once or a few at a time. if all at once i can buy another 20-30 feeders every 2 weeks and can quarantine them. what do you guys think?

Hand feeding already, thats great. Looks like u got a good one. Ours always swam to the bottom. Anyways, dont throw all of them into the tank. I have found this to stress the fish out, well, at least ours. I use to throw in either 4 large goldfish feeders or like 8 small goldfish feeders. BUt keep in mind, this was at my store, not a 55 gallon. It really all depends on how big he is and how much of an appetite he has lol. For now, throw in 10-15 and see how fast he goes through those.

i bought 30 rosie minnows and will be quarantine for 2-3 weeks
my gar is active and is swimming alot hehe
ill try half for the first time
