neewbie co2 injection question

here's update: I bought the wrench and got the co2 tank working properly now. Thx alot. All i did was tighten the regulator to the cyclinder. Let lose the black knob and needle valve a little. Here's a few pics of my co2 tank and my planted tanks..Is nothing like yours or any pros here..im still a rookie. heh

sweet!! :thumbsup: look at you!! those are some good looking tanks!! are you only injecting one tank? you need to create your own planted tank thread like mine!!! :)
 
lol man im a newblet too. just started a few month ago!!! my secret, just crank up the co2 as much as you can w/o killing your fish. co2 is the answer to most of a planted tank's problems
 
yeah the solenoid is the only plug you should have relating to your co2. do you have others? you really need to get some timers. you can get them at lowes or walmart. $7 each. have your co2 turn on/off 1hr before lights turn on/off. mechanical timers are a great tool
 
when you say "turn off the co2 tank" did you mean unplug the solenoid or close the valves? because you shouldnt mess with the valves once you have it set. by unplugging the solenoid, you cut off the flow of co2. when the solenoid has power, co2 is flowing. thats why i mentioned you should have timers so you dont need to mess with anything
